Here you will find a list of families that have lived in Quebec city at one time or another. The Jewish community of Quebec started off with just two individuals in the mid 18th century. Slowly, over time with their numbers increased, some settling down permanently, while others stayed to raise their families before moving on to other places.

Many ended their days here in Quebec city and were buried in the cemetery, the oldest active Jewish cemetery in Canada.

Click on the family name to see who were the members and who was associated with that family. Where possible, we have included photos and testimonials.

If you have additional information on you or your family or find that your family is not listed, please write to us at families at info@shalomquebec.org

We are indebted to the research done by the late Guy W. Richard on the Jewish Cemetery, now published by Septentrion books.
